Nowadays through technology, occlusion is more of a Science than an Art. This has been effected through the development of digital occlusal analysis in the form of the T-sacn.

The use of the T-scan can help greatly in daily practice. This applies equally to general practice as it does to the practice of periodontics, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other areas.

Dr Mouritz will discuss how digital occlusal analysis can help improve the accuracy and efficiency of our practice. She will examine at least 5 ways T-Scan can help in dental practice. To benefit those new to T-Scan a short live demonstration of its use will be carried out.

Presented by

Dr Janice Mouritz

Dr Janice Mouritz graduated with a BDSc from Western Australia in 1977. She practised general dentistry, pre-school dentistry, undergraduate teaching and dental research prior to specializing in periodontics. Graduating with a Masters of Dental Science in 1993 she set up a private periodontal practice first in Carlton North, and then Ivanhoe.

Janice has a special interest in the role of occlusion in dentistry: "Our knowledge has been an evolving process and having the technology to precisely assess forces on teeth was something we could only dream of in the 1970s. Let's look at how this technology improves our understanding of the occlusion of each individual patient and how it can make our practices even more successful".
